Forex Market Sleeping During Easter Weekend, But It Will Wake Up To Volatility

Forex---relax

Major stock markets are closed for Easter weekend in the US, UK, Canada, much of the Euro Zone and other countries. Although the Forex market is open, it is pointless and can be dangerous to trade on a major holiday due to lack of volatility and bank trading action. We recommend that you do not trade until after Easter weekend.

Monday is a bank holiday as well in much of the world, although the Asian and USA markets are open. While there may be some possible trading opportunities, it is wise to trade carefully on Monday as well with so many banks still closed.

Market Volatility After The Long Weekend

Starting in the USA on Monday, there are about 28 major economic releases, culminating s in Friday’s Non-Farm Payroll release at 8:30 EST (12:30 GMT).

Europe Under Pressure

The world watches to see what unfolds in Europe as a result of Belgium’s tragedy. There are a few major economic events out of several European countries next week including Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece and Spain. On March 31st at 9am GMT we have Eurostat’s Consumer Price Index release then at 11:30am GMT we have the ECB Monetary Policy Meeting Accounts.

ForexSignal.com – Outlook For The Week Ahead

While we will most likely not be sending Forex signals and Trade Copier trades until late Monday or into Tuesday (New York time), we expect to see plenty of volatility and trading opportunities as the week progresses. In today’s market, the previous strong USD bias is not as apparent as previously and we seek trading opportunities to either buy or sell the USD.

Our preference is to have all trades flat prior to Friday’s Non-Farm Payroll release, so our goal is for all trades to be exited before 8:30am on Friday. Once the markets settle down after the initial volatility, if favorable we may send Forex signals again at that time ahead of the weekend.
